Coinciding with the first anniversary of the decease of the First Cuban Rum Master, José Pablo Navarro Campa, this September 10, we launched a new profile on the social network Facebook dedicated to the knowledge of the Movement of Masters of Cuban Light Rum, declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation since March 2016.
Linked for decades to the artisanal creation and manufacture of our spirits, those who hold today such a special honor, become a guarantee to preserve and enhance the competitive advantage of our main products, as well as they apply all scientific-technical and cultural exigences to these Cuban-flavoring liquids.
"You are working with sensory perceptions that go beyond the physico-chemical specifications or technological parameters," says the First Master and leader of the Movement, Juan Carlos González, hence the Master must also know "the sensory profiles of everything inside his factory: from the spirits to the most complex old bases and know how to blend all that to achieve a certain result."
That is the Art of the Master, also assures the professional, depositary of a cultural heritage that has been transmitted over generations.
With the objective of strengthening the tradition and making it more visible and closer to lovers of spirits worldwide, the Cuba Ron S.A. Corporation conceives for this community the new fanpage on Facebook, which will also support the communication campaign aimed at the application of the Knowledge of our Masters to integrate the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, granted by UNESCO.
The digital space aspires to the positioning of attractive products conceived from a multimedia approach, with a variety of proposals, which in appropriate versions will also be shared in formats for Twitter (@CubaRonSA), Telegram (CubaRon S.A.) and once created, our YouTube channel.
Loyalty and interaction with a community interested in the diverse portfolio of the Corporation is another priority, demonstrating that the Movement of Rum Masters is a living and cultural entity.

The integrity that a Cuban Rum Master must have in its social and professional dimension, is another of the conditions that distinguish the men and women of the rum industry on the Island.
"You are a Rum Master at any moment of life: at home, in the neighborhood, in the factory, abroad, or wherever you are," said First Master Juan Carlos González, who always show off this national pride, when he says that rum is produced in many place of the world, "but our way... that is something else!...."
The knowledge and conduct of the Master must then correspond to the culture he embodies, the Cuban spirit, which has expressed itself throughout its history, and was born of the geographical and natural conditions.
Said by the first Cuban woman to reach the category of Rum Master, Salomé Alemán Carriazo, ratified that our rum has been present in each of the historical-cultural stages of the country. "Therefore its blend is also the blend of our cultural mix. We are talking about Heritage, about cultural transmission, but always keeping an eye on responsible consumption".

According to the regulations of the Cuban Rum Master established by the Ministry of the Food Industry (MINAL), the high qualification and ability to interpret and conduct the processes during the production of distillates, natural aging and correction treatments, are ineherent characteristics to this team of experts, currently formed by 9 masters and 5 aspirants.
Declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation five years ago, they are fully respected and admired by the employees. Together they work, discuss tasks and face the immediate problems of the industry and collegiate solutions on site.
The final product?: true jewels of the liquid flavor of Cuba, so that in the dimension of responsible enjoyment conceptualized by Don Navarro, many may drink a whole lot of quality in a few drops.
