A pairing with two Cuba Ron S.A Corporation products was shared in the context of the XXII Habano Festival. The space was attended by Juan González Escalona, The Cuba Ron Corporation President, Jorge Cardoso Segredo, Export Director, César Martí and Julio Ayan the Masters of the Cuban Rum Maker, Roberto Delgado Pérez Habanos World Challenge jury and Juan Jesús Machín, president of the Cuban Association of Sommeliers. With a well-deserved tribute to the filmmaker Ismael Perdomo as a space for recognition of the good audiovisual work and the tasting of a Cubay Remedios 500 Rum with a sip of Santiago de Cuba Extra Dry Rum, was shared the Montecristo Line 1935 Maltés. Endless essences, aromas, memories and traditions were lived yesterday afternoon at the Convention Center in Havana.
The Cubay Remedios 500 Rum, dark amber, bright, clean and seductive came to the Habano Festival as a pleasure to pair and fall in love with an intense aroma that awakens a very old brandy. This product is an exclusivity designed to honor for the 500th anniversary of the founding the village of San Juan de los Remedios, an exclusive product to touch the past and open the present. Coming from sugarcane and various natural fragrances that are fueled by its many years of aging, being the perfect prelude to a flavor that reveals and allows you to discover a deep aging with a perfect balance between sweet and bitter, exquisite and great aftertaste remain in the mouth.
The afternoon and the half lights were also more than opportune to taste the Santiago de Cuba Extra Dry Rum in the Habanos Moments. This select essence has been defined by the President of the Corporation, Juan González Escalona, as "a true legend and a special taste for drinkers from the Bourbon culture." With a conventional aging in American white oak barrels of more than 60 years of use, it is a “genuine product from the fermentation and distillation of sugar cane molasses, created in 1873, with a natural technology.
As a kind of main course and aromatic matrix, the pairing was made with Montecristo Line 1935 Maltés, which takes a medium term and has a fantastic shape known as the Sobresalientes vitola. It measures a healthy 153 mm with a ring caliber 53. Montecristo is one of the most appreciated brands of Habanos and together with the combination of the rums they became perfect reasons to celebrate the flavor and origins of an island.
Several personalities of the Cuban culture along with representatives of different professional branches accompanied the space to add to this wisdom this moment, which mixed tasting with knowledge of word and soul of the experienced Cuban Rum Masters. To finish the event and not least, was the invitation to join the upcoming and expected III Festival of Rum, to be held from June 11th to 13th in Varadero.
